Thanksgivings
Hey Mr. Murdie,
I just wanted to write down about some Thanksgivings so I don’t forget. The first Thanksgiving after we met you went home. I still have the voice messages on my machine…a couple of cute messages from you thanking me for doing your injections for you. I remember you coming home and stopping in here. Standing in the kitchen…I was so excited to see you! I don’t even remember what I did that year (2006).
Then of course the next year we we got released from Burlington just in time to go to your parents’ for Thanksgiving and we stayed in that little hotel…The Cascade Inn, I think it was called. All I can remember is you falling out of bed…thud! It woke me up… I don’t even know what happened, but right now as I write this I’m laughing out loud LOL! Only because you were ok ;) And remember your poor dad sitting in the back of the Xterra all cramped up on the ride home here?
And 2008…you were gone. Ross, Ash, Ross’s friend, and I stopped in to your parents after going to mom’s for Thanksgiving. That was a sad couple of days, even though it was great to see them.
You know we are going to a Leafs / Bruins game next weekend. I think it will be hard for us all to be there without you, but I know its what you’d want. For us to keep going. To keep enjoying life. I’m going to wear your Wendell jersey like I did when we went. Your dad has your Tucker jersey.
I thank God everyday for the time we had together, Babe. And I thank Him for hope for a future of goodness. I do miss you, but the painful times are less and less and the hopeful moments more and more.
Loveya :)
